- One of the newest online poker innovations has been the Double or Nothing Sit & Go poker tournament. Basically 10 players take a seat in a tournament, and the final 5 players receive double their money back –so there is no difference between finishing 1st or 5th in a Double or Nothing tournament.
Double or nothing poker tournaments are quite different to normal tournaments. They do not have a tiered prize structure, you either win double the original buy-in if you finish in the money or get nothing at all.
The most important attribute to have when playing the double or nothing tournaments is patience as players are usually playing pretty tight since there are more players who can cash in the tournament (half of the field). It is important to play a tight range of hands when you near the bubble, since regardless of chip stacks, whichever players make it in the money receive the same prize.

There is an exception to this rule; if you can find a tight player who has doubled or tripled up early, they may go into ‘lock-down mode’ and consequently be very easy to steal from. You should also steal liberally from tight regulars, particularly when you are in the SB or button positions.

Now you can with our new Double or Nothing feature! When you get up from a cash game table, or are eliminated from a tournament but cash in the money, you’ll now be given the chance to double your winnings, or recoup your losses instantly!

For example, let’s say that you’ve won $500 from a $2/$4 cash game and stand up from the table. As you get up, a pop up window will appear that gives you the option to try and double your winnings by playing the Double or Nothing game.
Alternatively, if you’ve lost in your cash game session, you’ll have the option to wager what you’ve lost for a shot to get it back (if you have the necessary funds in your account).
The Double or Nothing game consists of a standard playing deck of 52 cards and 2 jokers. It’s up to you to bet on whether the randomly overturned card will be a Red Card or a Black Card. Guess right, and you double your money. Guess the wrong color or land a joker and you lose.
Note that you’ll be given an option to “Opt-out” of the Double or Nothing game when it appears. If it’s not for you, you can shut it off and never see it again.
