the number of people who think that way is staggering. We generally aren't used to it as much because we try to surround ourselves with people of similar intelligence, but man it's bad. Think of a person with avg intelligence then realize 50% of people are dumber.

“The poker equivalent of this would be your opponent getting JT in on 983 against your AA, them hitting a straight, and thus drawing the conclusion you should have folded because the equity was obviously wrong because you LOST This type of thinking is why the game of life is soft”.

This is a prime example of the Ludic fallacy. The game of poker is quantifiable. The game of life is not. We can not calculate 'outs' or 'blockers' in real life (even though we think we can)

17 players have finished the day and they are led by Phil Bain, he has held the chip lead for most of the day and finished tonight on top of the remaining players. He will go into tomorrow as the favourite. The full chip count of the players who bagged up are:

Chip counts will be up with you as soon as possible.

That’s a Good flop – 05/04/2016 – 22:45

Thomas Pearn opens and is called by Jack Oliver in the blinds.

The flop comes we missed the action by Jack ends up all in for his 45,000 stack with Thomas making the call.

Jack shows for the flopped flush..
Thomas tables for top pair and what he thought was an open ended straightt flush draw, but he can’t make that now as Jack has those two outs. He is left needing runner runner for a full house.

The turn card comes leaving Thomas drawing dead.

The river card is meaningless.

Jack takes the pot and doubles up to 115,000.
Thomas is left with just 30,000.

Five More Hands – 05/04/2016 – 22:35

The clock has been paused with 10 minutes remaining.

The players will now play five more hands before bagging up for the night.

Cheok Goes Clubbing – 05/04/2016 – 22:34

Cheok Lao opens, Oscar Sibley-Harris moves all in for his 35,000 stack and Cheok makes the quick call when the action comes back to him.

Cheok tables and it’s a coinflip as Oscar tables

The flop comes as Oscar takes the lead with top pair, but Cheok flops a flush draw.

The turn card comes the biggest brick in the deck.

The river card !!! Cheok rivers the flush to take the pot.

Sick for Oscar as he heads out of the tournament during the last level of the night.

Two Time Champion Priddis – 05/04/2016 – 16:25

Simon Priddis is in the field today and for those who don’t know he is a two timer UKSPC high roller champion winning the event in 2013 and defending his title in 2014. He didn’t manage a three-peat in 2015 but I am sure he is looking to take home this trophy tomorrow.

If he wants to take home the trophy he will have to re-enter as he has just been eliminated from the tournament.

Break Time – 05/04/2016 – 15:30

Break time now for the players as they take 15 minutes.

Another Exit – 05/04/2016 – 15:22

Action as been a little quiet during the first two levels of play here, as you would expect. The players starting with 20,000 chips on a 30 minute clock.

We have however lost another player in Lee Richards who has just hit the rail. He now has just over two hours to re-enter if he wishes. Play can re-enter twice for the first six levels, so if needed you could have six bullets at the high roller. With student loans coming soon, why wouldn’t you.

Issues Fixed – 05/04/2016 – 15:16

The issues have been fixed now so we can get our teeth sunk into this tournament properly.

There’s a good atmosphere in the cardroom at the moment. Everyone is playing with a smile on their face and having a good laugh despite them playing for big money as at the moment there’s over £16,000 in the prizepool.

Cardroom Shot – 05/04/2016 – 15:12

We’re not actually in the cardroom but here is a shot of the area we are playing in which is at the bottom of the casino and usually the sports screening area.

Level 3 – 05/04/2016 – 15:01

The blinds increase as we begin level number three.

They are now 75/150.

83 entries so far today.

Exit – 05/04/2016 – 14:55

Two and a half levels in and we get our first exit as we lose Samuel Wain from the tournament.

He now has the opportunity to re-enter if he wishes and can do so for the first six levels so up until 5:30pm

Website issues – 05/04/2016 – 14:45

We’re currently having major website issues. Which is why the blog updates have been slow and there’s no pictures been uploaded yet.

Hopefully we will get this sorted as soon as possible.

Level 2 – 05/04/2016 – 14:30

The blinds increase as we begin level number two

They are now 50/100.

75 entries so far.
